chairman's report to the AGM 30 November 2011

During this first year of the patient participation group we have seen a few changes with people joining and leaving but now seem to have settled down to a very committed core group who work together very well and who have worked with the Practice to improve the services to patients.

We have set up the twice monthly Health Walks with grateful thanks to Patricia for all the hard work that she puts into them.

We have liaised with the Practice on various issues:

We have invited various speakers to talk to us:

Our main task at present is to finalise our constitution. We were hoping to present it to this AGM for approval, but we do need to get it right and so it will now be presented at the AGM 2012.

The Group needs more members, especially parents of young children, carers, members of the ethnic community and those with conditions requiring frequent treatment. We need a cross section of patients to ensure all voices are heard.

Lastly, it has been a pleasure Chairing the Group for the last year but in spite of my first paragraph, I am afraid due to pressure of work I must resign for the next year or two at least.

My thanks go to all the Group but especially to David and Lynne for all their hard work and to Brian my Vice Chairman.

I wish the PPG and maple surgery all the best for the future.

Margaret Moffat
