The Bar Hill Health Walks are fully accredited by Walking for Health. The walks normally last approximately one hour and are supervised by trained walk leaders. Shorter walks of 10-30 minutes duration are available within our regular walks. Everyone is welcome; no previous walk experience required and no one gets left behind.
These are all-weather walks. Come rain or shine, there will always be a trained volunteer ready to lead the way!
For the safety and comfort of walkers we only permit assistance dogs and assistance dogs-in-training on our walks. Only the Bar Hill village walks are suitable for wheelchairs and buggies.
Walks are held every Wednesday. Meet at 10:30 a.m. by the Memorial Garden near the maple surgery. If walking with us for the first time, please arrive 10 minutes early to fill out a short health questionnaire. After the walk you are welcome to join us locally for a hot drink and a chat. We look forward to seeing you at the next walk!
The maple surgery patient participation group is organising a series of talks about medical topics of interest to the local community. These Health Awareness Events are free and open to the general public.
23 October 2012: A public meeting was held regarding the then ongoing process of selecting a new provider of primary medical care services in Bar Hill.
7 May 2013: The new contract holders, Malling Health, held a public meeting in order to introduce themselves to their patients and the local community, and to answer questions.
