Approval of minutes and matters arising

The minutes from the meeting of 28 November 2012 (AGM) were approved.

JD mentioned getting minutes published in the Bar Hill News. It was agreed that he would speak to Margaret Sellars and ask if the AGM minutes could be put on the front page.

Update on contract tendering process

THP said the partners (Dr Boyle, Dr Fourie, Janet Edge and THP) went to interview on Wednesday, 23 January 2013. They were grilled on provision of services and asked to give a verbal vision of the next five years. The format of the interview was prepared questions and direct answers were expected. THP said they were very confident with their presentation and felt very positive about the outcome.

Everything was on track for the takeover date of 6 April 2013.

Staff were very keen to know of the future and decisions were expected early this week. After staff had been informed, the Committee would be informed of the results.

Surgery report

Patients can now book online by first visiting the surgery in person to obtain a login username and password.

The surgery was very sorry to inform the Committee of the resignation of Jenny Moyes (deputy manager) who has taken a position at the surgery in Cambourne. She will be greatly missed. An advert to replace this position with a manager had been prepared in readiness.

A new approach at the surgery is to make every contact count, i.e. stopping smoking, improving life management, diet and encouraging patients to help themselves within the NHS. This will be updated later.

Repeat prescriptions are still causing concern. Details of the time needed to process them will be included in the information leaflet. THP will share a copy with the Committee by email and would appreciate our feedback. CS suggested a reminder going in the Bar Hill News.

There being no other surgery business JD thanked THP for all her efforts.

Any other business

NM said that the advert for the surgery in the Bar Hill News suggested that the surgery was closed on Thursdays.

JP said there was an omission in the new Activity Leaflet, thinking that Aqua Fit also took place on Wednesday. DoH said she would check on this and report back.

Next meeting

The meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m.

The next ordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the PPG will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 27 February 2013, in the TNT Room at Bar Hill Church. Tea and coffee will be served before the meeting, from 6:00 p.m.
